Music Videos

I have become incredibly intrigued by music videos in recent times for two particular reasons. Firstly, they are pushing and showing the world the extent to which technology can be used (VR, IoT, AR, visual effects). Secondly, they are truly art pieces. I like to watch videos that have an intersect between the real world and the digital one. For example, Bruno Mars’ “That’s What I Like” music video has gotten massive attention recently. This is because of the simplicity of his real world dance moves morphed with simple animations that go to the speed of his movements. Furthermore, a slightly older example is Arctic Monkey’s video for the song, “Do I Wanna Know?” I highly recommend watching this sometime really late at night where the effects will be fully powerful. The song is explores digital art and motion and tells a story as it slowly becomes more complex in its nature. Here is the link, watch it if you haven’t yet.
