I saw an article yesterday about a girl who wore a prom dress covered in the faces of victims of police brutality. It was a Black Lives Matter statement that the designer wanted to express through the medium of fashion, and I thought it was a really interesting way of using clothing to express a message. This was particularly relevant to what we have learned in class because it serves as both wearable art and a public art piece. Prom dresses are on display for everyone to see, not just in person but also on social media, so I definitely think it spread the message effectively and powerfully.
