Roman Dirge, One of many America’s obscure Artists

 I discovered this artist through a comic book he created called ‘Lenore, the Cute Little Dead Girl.’  It’s a fun story about a girl that most likely doesn’t even realize that she is dead.  Roman Dirge’s art is a creation of gory cuteness and naive sarcasm translated to canvas and print. I know this might sound bizarre, but the surreal caricatures that the artist creates, combined with the colors he chooses, and the environment where he allocates them strangely brings wonder and comfort to the viewer… even when the subjects  can be  quite disturbing.

I highly recommend to visit his site to see his art and scavenge the internet for some old school Flash animations of his comic books and see in first hand his art.
